The Breeze: Announcing Jetstream, a new $10M climate fund
Jetstream invests in pre-seed climate tech startups, mostly software
Today I’m announcing Jetstream, a new fund for founders advancing life and prosperity on our planet. Jetstream is a $10M fund investing $250k in pre-seed software startups focused on climate, sustainability, and biodiversity.
Society is undergoing major global shifts. We’re using more energy, consuming more food, and creating more products than ever. But in doing so, we’re emitting poisons, destroying forests, and clogging landfills with junk. The old way of doing things isn’t working for us now because we have new values: we want to live in harmony with our planet.
Fortunately, technology provides the path to achieve our goals. We can already produce clean energy, abundant food supply, and sustainable products. This is where software comes in. Software helps us scale solutions for every changing industry – energy, food, agriculture, mobility, buildings, consumer goods, and everything else under the sun. By combining software with sensors and AI, we can determine and deliver what the planet needs.
Jetstream invests in scalable software-based solutions and the founders behind them. Over one hundred LPs have joined our cause, including partners from thirty venture firms like Semil Shah of Haystack, Saar Gur of CRV, and Phil Black of True Ventures.
Together we’ve already invested in companies building this future, including WattCarbon, Simplifyber, Wildgrid, Topanga, Cecil, The Cool Down, Ten Lives, Lightship, Permanent, and OceanSync.
Jetstream helps founders get things right from inception. Have a planet-saving solution? Email us at team@jetstream.io. Let’s build a beautiful world together. 🌎
Stay breezy,
Tommy
